A Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) is a legally valid electronic signature used for authenticating online documents and transactions.

Types of Digital Signature Certificates

• Class 3 Signing Certificate: Used for filing returns, portal registrations, and document authentication.
• Class 3 Signature with Encryption (Combo): Used for online tenders, e-auctions, trademark registration, secure emails, and document encryption/decryption.

How to Apply for a Digital Signature Certificate

1. Select your DSC type: Class 3 Signing or Class 3 Combo (Signing + Encryption).
2. Enter your billing details and complete the online payment.
3. Receive the form/verification link via email and mobile.
4. Complete your verifications:
   • Email verification
   • Mobile verification
   • Video verification
5. Your DSC certificate will be approved within 10–20 minutes.

Documents Required for a Digital Signature Certificate

• PAN card/PAN number of the applicant
• Address proof (Aadhaar card, voter ID, or utility bill)
• Email ID and mobile number
• Organization documents & form (if applying for an organization DSC)

How to Renew a Digital Signature Certificate

The renewal process is the same as the new application and requires fresh ID proofs and verification.

Note: You can use your existing USB token for renewal if it complies with CCA guidelines.
